Winter: The Winter training program provides an opportunity for players to improve their skills and fundamentals. Practices include a format with stations where each group will focus on a particular skill such as shooting, stick skills, passing, footwork, catching, and dodging. Winter classes run December-February.
Spring Training/Preseason: This program is strongly recommended for players planning to join the spring league. These sessions help the player become familiar with their teammates and coaches and serve as a player evaluation to aid in team placement. The Spring Training program runs late February-March
Spring League: League play is offered for players 1st-8th grade. Athletes in 1st-2nd grade participate in a house league format that focuses on fundamentals of game play. Practices are 1-2 days per week with games played on Saturday mornings. Athletes 3rd-8th grade participates in the Illinois Boys Lacrosse Association (IBLA). These teams play approximately 10 games throughout the season followed by an end of season tournament. Teams will travel to neighboring towns for away games and host home games at Newton Park. Teams may choose to participate in tournaments at the discretion of the coach. Spring season runs April-early June.
Summer: The Glen Ellyn Bulldogs host instructional clinics focusing on lacrosse fundamentals ideal for new players. The opportunity for returning/veteran players to play games over the summer is also available. Summer classes run during various summer weeks starting late June-early August.
Fall: Instructional classes for new and returning player are offered during the Fall months. A free introductory class is offered for new players. The 2018 class will be held on November 10th at the Ackerman SFC turf. Preregistration is required and can be done online at the Glen Ellyn Park District website. Fall classes run mid September-October.
